Rooted in our school motto “CARE”, the Character Development Program cultivates core values such as responsibility, gratitude, integrity, and respect. Through House activities, advisory sessions, and daily behavioral guidance, students engage in meaningful reflection, emotional growth, and aesthetic appreciation. In this nurturing environment, they develop strong moral character and compassion, ultimately growing into principled, caring, and globally minded young citizens.
Our Chinese Program is grounded in the national curriculum and aims to build strong language literacy while fostering deep cultural identity. Students practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing, allowing them to construct and apply language in authentic contexts and express themselves confidently. The curriculum promotes critical thinking, creativity, cultural appreciation, and personal expression—helping students develop a meaningful connection to their heritage and preparing them for lifelong learning in a rapidly changing world.
The English curriculum develops students’ comprehensive language abilities with a strong emphasis on reading and academic language. Co-taught by Chinese and international teachers, the program features leveled reading, thematic learning, collaborative discussions, and English drama. Students not only gain language proficiency, but also expand cultural understanding, develop character, build critical and creative thinking skills, and grow into confident communicators with a global perspective.
The WBS Bilingual Math Program integrates Chinese and international mathematical thinking and methodologies. Instruction is differentiated according to students’ cognitive and language levels and is connected to real-life and cross-curricular learning contexts. While building a solid foundation in core mathematical skills, the program emphasizes inquiry-based projects, logical reasoning, mathematical communication, problem-solving, and innovation—helping students develop both mathematical fluency and flexible thinking.
The WBS Science Curriculum integrates national curriculum standards with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and the EIE engineering design framework. The program progresses in a spiral structure across grade levels. Students begin by exploring the world with curiosity, gradually developing scientific skills and attitudes, and ultimately learn to connect science with technology, society, and the environment—equipping them to apply knowledge and solve real-world problems.
The Visual Arts curriculum nurtures aesthetic awareness and artistic expression. Students explore artistic traditions from China and around the world and learn to use diverse art forms to express their ideas and experiences. By investigating connections between art and other subjects, students develop independent inquiry skills and grow in creativity, cultural appreciation, and artistic confidence.
Through our three-year violin program, students develop foundational music skills, including performance technique and aural training. Learning the violin helps students build a lifelong affinity with music, developing artistic confidence and emotional expression. We believe that a childhood enriched by music fosters joy, inner balance, and a lasting appreciation for beauty and art.
The WBS PE Program promotes physical fitness, well-being, and sportsmanship. Co-taught by Chinese and international teachers, it incorporates both Western sports—such as soccer, basketball, and American football—and Chinese martial arts and traditional physical activities. Students develop athletic skills, teamwork, resilience, cultural appreciation, and the habit of lifelong healthy living.
Our PBL program centers on interdisciplinary learning driven by real-world challenges. Students explore authentic problems, collaborate in bilingual learning environments, and apply knowledge across multiple subjects. Through this process, students strengthen critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills—while developing essential competencies such as project management and global citizenship, preparing them to navigate the future with confidence.
